Dear MMSN Members,
We trust this message finds you in good health and spirits.
We are thrilled to share the highlights of a recent and highly enlightening experience-sharing session and case presentation from Everest ER 2024. This event was a testament to the dedication and expertise within our community, and it was an honor to learn from some of the finest medical professionals in the field.
During this session, we had the privilege of hearing from the distinguished Dr. Nishant Joshi and Dr. Shreyasi Karki, who shared their invaluable experiences managing some of the most challenging cases at the world’s highest ER setup in 2024. Their presentations covered critical cases such as Mad Honey Poisoning, High Altitude Hemorrhagic Retinopathy, and the deeply moving account of a cook who suffered from High-Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE).
Dr. Joshi and Dr. Karki provided profound insights into the complexities and nuances involved in treating these conditions. They reflected on their personal and professional growth, gained from working in such extreme and demanding environments. Their narratives highlighted significant advancements in decision-making and patient care, demonstrating how these experiences have honed their skills and enriched their medical practices.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to our esteemed panelists, Dr. Kamal Thapa and Dr. Suman Acharya, whose invaluable insights and expert commentary ensured a comprehensive understanding of each case. Their contributions were instrumental in facilitating an engaging and informative session for all MMSN members.
We are immensely proud of the collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence displayed by everyone involved in this event. It is through such enriching experiences and knowledge-sharing sessions that we continue to advance our mission of promoting proper health practices in the mountains.
