Call for Applications for Nepalese Volunteer Doctors for HRA Everest ER (Spring Climbing Season 2025)

The Himalayan Rescue Association’s Everest ER, the highest temporary aid clinic in the world located at Everest Base Camp (5400m), is inviting applications from interested Nepali doctors (MBBS and above) to volunteer at the clinic for the upcoming Spring climbing season from March to the end of May 2025.

This prestigious opportunity offers a unique blend of challenge and reward, where you will work in a remote, high-altitude environment, surrounded by the stunning Himalayas. Volunteers will provide primary care to climbers, guides, high-altitude workers, and trekkers at the base camp. Responsibilities include treating patients at the Everest ER clinic and making tent calls in expedition-style lodgings.

Requirements:

  • MBBS or higher qualification.
  • Diploma in Mountain Medicine, prior experience at HRA aid posts (Manang/Pheriche), or clinical experience at high altitudes is highly desirable.
  • Temporary registration from the Nepal Medical Council is mandatory (provisional registration is not sufficient).

Interested candidates should submit:

  • A detailed CV highlighting clinical experience at high altitudes.
  • A motivation letter (max. 500 words) explaining your desire to volunteer at Everest ER.
